The Waves is a competitive USA swim program committed to the achievement of excellence in the sport of swimming and life. To accomplish this commitment, the Waves has chosen to provide the community with a full-time, high-quality swim program in an atmosphere of spirited competition with superior sportsmanship. Moreover, it is our mission to inspire and enable our swimmers to achieve excellence in academics by providing opportunities to enhance reading, math, and science skills through our program. Unlike many sports programs in our community, our Head Coach Jamie Winkler works in a full-time capacity as coach for the Wyoming Waves contributing significant hours to swimmer development, swim meet attendance, and furthering the development of our program.

To achieve our mission and continue our remarkable coaching, it takes considerable time and money. Because of this, it is necessary that each swim family raise six hundred dollars ($600.00/$50 per month) for the team during a calendar year. We arrived at this figure based on current operating expenses. This amount will be pro-rated at $50.00 per month for any swimmer participating for a portion of the year. To assist with this, the team will have four organized fundraisers during the year. All funds generated by a specific swim family in any of these fundraisers will be credited to that family’s annual obligation. Consequently, a family may meet this $600.00 commitment at any time during the year by obtaining community sponsorships (donations), utilizing our organized fundraisers, or simply making a personal donation in that amount. The Wyoming Waves is a 501(c)3 organization under the Internal Revenue Code and donations may be tax-deductible as permitted under that section of the Code.

Please be assured that the Wyoming Waves Board is committed to helping everyone with this obligation as demonstrated by its decision that the $600.00 requirement by the same for any family regardless of the number of swimmers from that family. Our organized fundraisers will be announced each year in September at the beginning of our swim season.

We not only have a tremendous coach in Jamie Winkler, but also are fortunate to have an outstanding parent base. With cooperation and “teamwork” all of our swimmers will succeed and be part of something outstanding in Wyoming. We are looking forward to working with you and your children.

“Learning Rich” are education nights that emphasize the importance of education. These sessions are offered one to two nights per month. Topics are pertinent to swimming, i.e. nutrition, hydration, time conversions, etc. The kids love it!
