Waves Summer State 2010 Preview

East graduate Justin Hastings registered six first place finishes to lead the Wyoming Waves to a third place finish at the Wyoming State Long Course Championships in Fort Collins recently.
Hastings, who serves as an assistant coach for the Cheyenne-based Waves, finished first in the men’s open 100 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 100 butterfly, 200 individual medley, 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke.
Other individual champions for the Waves are, Connor Dickerson, boy’s 15-16 100 breaststroke; Tyler Downey, boy’s 15-16, 800 freestyle; Tyler Johnson, boy’s 15-16 100 butterfly; and Robyn Meeks, women’s open 100 freestyle.
Waves swimmers compete at Zones
Four Wyoming Waves swimmers will compete as part of Team Wyoming at the Western Zones Swimming Championships in San Jose, Calif., Aug. 10-14.
Gracie Brown, Robyn Meeks, Taylor Wisdorf and Connor Dickerson have each posted qualifying times and will compete with swimmers from 13 western states.

Swimmers representing the Wyoming Waves, a Cheyenne-based swim team, will compete in the Wyoming State Long Course Swimming Championships at the Edora Pool and Ice Center in Fort Collins, July 30 through Aug. 1.
Approximately 30 Wyoming Waves swimmers, ages eight to 19, will participate in the event held this year in Fort Collins due to the Gillette Aquatic Center, the only long course pool in Wyoming, under repair.
Justin Hastings, back from a year competing at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, has posted the top qualifying time in the Open 200 meter backstroke and 200 freestyle. He has the second fastest qualifying times in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke.
Ben Wisdorf has posted the fastest 50 freestyle time in the Boys 13-14 age group. He is also the third fastest in the 200 freestyle and 200 breaststroke.
Other top seeded Waves’ swimmers are:
Colton Sall, Boys 8 & under, second seed in the 50 backstroke, 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and third seed in 200 freestyle; Grant Schoene, Boys 10 & under, third seed 50 breaststroke; Connor Dickerson, Boys 15-16, third seed 200 backstroke; Tyler Johnson, Boys 15-16, second seed 50 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke, third seed 100 freestyle and 20 freestyle; and Taylor Wisdorf, Boys 15-16, third seed 50 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke.
