Taylor Wisdorf sets state breaststroke standard

Congratulations to the Waves' Taylor Wisdorf, who set a new state high school record in the 100 Breaststroke. Wisdorf's time of 57.25 not only broke a 21-year-old high school mark, but also puts him in consideration for All-America honors. Taylor has accepted a swimming scholarship to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where he will join his sister, Jenna, as a member of the Panther swim team.

2012 Olympic Trials qualifier, 100 Breaststroke, 1:11.88

Morgan will be a sophomore on the University of Wyoming Swimming and Diving team this Fall. She is the first Wyoming Wave to qualify for the Olympic Trials.

13-14 Girls 400 Meter Freestyle Relay team sets state record

Congratulations to Sarah Devine, Erica Sall, Jade Axness and Abby Urban, who set a new state record with a time of 4:29.50.

Warburton-Smith, Meeks excel at Zones

Maranda Warburton-Smith and Robyn Meeks finished first and second, respectively in the Girls 17-18 200 Backstroke to lead Team Wyoming to a ninth place finish in the Western Zone Age Group Championships in Clovis, Calif.  

Warburton-Smith and Meeks, both members of the Cheyenne-based Wyoming Waves qualified for 11 combined finals (top eight), with Meeks finishing second in the 100 Back and 200 Individual medley in addition to her runner-up finish in the 200 backstroke.

Other Wyoming Waves with finals qualifying performances are Jonna Brown, Connor Dickerson and Taylor Wisdorf.

Ten members of the Wyoming Waves and 20 other swimmers from around the state made up Team Wyoming, which competed against approximately 650 swimmers from 16 teams representing swim organizations from the 13 western states.

The Waves’ Jamie Winkler served as one of the coaches of Team Wyoming.             

Both Adams State and Mesa State are members of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
